STOP THE VIOLENCE IN VALENCIA: POLICE VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN ON THE STREETS OF VALENCIA

High school students recently took part in a peaceful protest in Valencia City to protest against their schools not being paid for electricity or heating. They were taught by their teachers how to protest peacefully. The police turned out in riot gear and treated the kids and parents like criminals. This is now daily life for many students and parents here in Valencia and there has been no media coverage of these attrocities. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS REGIME - MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD.

CHIEF OF POLICE ANTONIO MORENO, WHEN ASKED WHETHER HE CONSIDERED THE POLICE RESPONSE "DISPROPORTIONATE" SAID SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF "YOU DON'T GIVE NUMBERS TO YOUR ENEMY".

MR MORENO,  I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU:
ARE CHILDREN YOUR ENEMY? ARE THE PEOPLE OF VALENCIA YOUR ENEMY? IS THIS BUSINESS (WHICH PAYS MORE THAN YOUR ANNUAL WAGES) YOUR ENEMY?

WE CALL FOR THE RESIGNATION OF ANTONIO MORENO, HE'S EVIDENTLY OVERSTRESSED, SLIGHTLY MAD AND CURRENTLY CONTROLLING A DANGEROUS AND VIOLENT FORCE ON THE STREETS OF VALENCIA AGAINST CHILDREN, PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS.

Elche Festivity - Arrival of the Virgin

Elche Festivity - Arrival of the Virgin

A tradition in Elche is the Arrival of the Virgin. This takes place on December 28th and commemorates the legendary discovery of the chest containing the image of the Virgin and the Consueta, or libretto of the Mystery Play, on Tamarit beach by coastguard Francesc Cantó. The re-enactment of Cantó’s swift horse ride through the streets of Elx is the festival’s high point.

According to tradition, on the night of December 28th coastguard Francesc Cantó, who was keeping watch over Elche’s coast, found a chest containing an image of the Virgin of the Assumption and the “Consueta”, the libretto for the Elche Mystery Play.

At 15:00 hours every December 28th Cantó leaves Huerto de les Portes Encarnaes on horseback to proclaim his discovery to the Town Council. After a mayoral communication has been published, a committee sets out to collect the chest. Once the committee has arrived at Huerto de les Portes Encarnades, the Virgin is borne in procession to the Basilica de Santa María.

On years with an even number a pilgrimage commemorating the event is held, setting out from Santa Pola to Elche. It starts at 07:30 at Santa Pola’s Tamarit beach and finishes in Hort de les Portes Encarnaes.
