STOP THE VIOLENCE IN VALENCIA: POLICE VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN ON THE STREETS OF VALENCIA

High school students recently took part in a peaceful protest in Valencia City to protest against their schools not being paid for electricity or heating. They were taught by their teachers how to protest peacefully. The police turned out in riot gear and treated the kids and parents like criminals. This is now daily life for many students and parents here in Valencia and there has been no media coverage of these attrocities. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS REGIME - MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD.

CHIEF OF POLICE ANTONIO MORENO, WHEN ASKED WHETHER HE CONSIDERED THE POLICE RESPONSE "DISPROPORTIONATE" SAID SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF "YOU DON'T GIVE NUMBERS TO YOUR ENEMY".

On 8th and 9th May 2010, thousands of huge and tiny kites of indescribable colours and shapes fly over the sky of Alicante, in front of the amazed spectators making intrepid pirouettes. The international Kite Festival of Alicante is a tradition.

Tests for the Acrobatic Kites Spanish Championship, kites with four threads, parades of static kites, workshops so the kids can build a kite, wind gardens, multiple flights or by couples and exhibitions of giant kites, are some of the activities that will be developed during the Kite Festival of Alicante.

The event takes place at Postiguet beach, Alicante on Saturday 8th May from 11.30 until 1.30pm, 5pm until 7pm and Sunday morning 10.30 until 1.30pm .
