Sagunto Theatre Festival

Sagunto is holding a festival of theatrical productions until 26 August 2007.

The festival Sagunt a escena (Sagunt on Stage), which is held in various different public spaces and stages in Sagunt until 26th August, offers almost fifty performances of twenty-two theatre, music and dance shows. The streets, the Teatro Romano (Roman Theatre) and the Nave de los Altos Hornos are once more the venues for most of the performances, although this year the theatre even reaches the beaches.

Festival of theater, music and dance will be held in the Roman Theater. The programme includes classic and modern works.

Se trata de una de las compañías de danza contemporánea que nos ofrecerá un programa del más alto nivel con alguno de los más interesantes coreógrafos del panorama mundial actual.

" Taller Locos por Shakespeare"
con la colaboración de la fundación Shakespeare de España.
Es un taller intensivo de entrenamiento actoral, dirigido a jóvenes entre 18 y 30 años con algun tipo de formación previa. Este es el espectáculo resultante de sus clases y ensayos.

"El bosque de Birnam"- Concierto para dos actores.
Compañía: KA-Actores.
Intérpretes: Sergio Péris-Mencheta y Manuel Ángel Conejero.
Macbeth y Lady Macbeth, frente a frente. La verdad y la mentira, juegos de luces y sombras. Un tour de force sobre textos de Macbeth y la música de Shostakovitz interpretada en directo para dos actores.

Tamirú Producciones Artísticas  
 Meses antes de fallecer Antonio Galdes creó una compañia de baile que pone en escena sus grandes obras. Esta obra recoge el amor y la pasión entre un hombre y una mujer más allá de los cánones sociales y los odios familiares, hecho que desemboca una tragedia colectiva. Contiene ocho números de baile flamenco tradicional bajo el prisma de Galdes.

"Antígona tiene un plan"

Libreto: Javier Muñoz y Diego Yzola
Es una historia de aventura basada en el clásico de Sófocles y a ritmo de musical. La obra obtuvo el premio Max de mejor espectáculo de teatro. Antígona es es hija del difunto rey Edipo. Sin sospecharlo se introducirá en una intriga que pondrá en peligro su vida y la de sus hermanos.  Se enfrentará a la tirania, a las intrigas de palacio y al destino.

"LOS PERSAS: RÉQUIEM POR UN SOLDADO"
Basado en el texto de Esquilo
Dirección escénica: Calixto Bieito y Pau Miró
Esta obra está dirigida por Calixto Bieto y protagonizada por Natalia Dicenta. Es una versión hecha con la colaboración de Pau Miró que reescribe la tragedia para la sociedad española del año 2007 y sitúa como transfondo de ésta la intervención en Afganistan. Los Persas fue representada por primera vez 8 años despues de la batalla de Salamina de los griegos contra los persas en el transcurso de las guerras médicas, batalla en la que el propio Esquilo participó.

Santiago Auserón y la Original Jazz Orquesta del Taller de Músics de Barcelona
Areglos y dirección: Enric Palomar
El cantante y compositor Santiago Auserón ha tenido la idea de rehacer sus grandes temas de la etapa de Radio Futura y de la etapa de Juan Perro, con la "Original Jazz Orquesta" compuesta por veintidós  músicos y dirigida por Enrique Palomar. Temas como Semilla Negra, Veneno en la piel, La negra flor o Annabel Lee se podrán escuchar en el Teatro Romano de Sagunto.
